Before you complete the transfer

ICBC says a buyer and seller complete and sign a Transfer/Tax Form and take the completed form and signed vehicle registration to an Autoplan broker. The transfer is completed through the broker, with registration and insurance following the ownership change.

1. Compare the VIN on the vehicle with the registration and sale documents.
2. Complete and sign the Transfer/Tax Form with the seller; electronic signatures are not accepted on the linked form.
3. Bring the signed registration and completed form to an Autoplan broker.
4. Confirm provincial sales tax, insurance, and any claim or lien questions with ICBC or the broker.
