How to find your VIN
A VIN is usually visible before you open a door. Find all 17 characters, then build the factory sheet.
Start on the driver side
Check the lower driver-side windshield first. Then open the driver door and inspect the fixed body frame or door-post label. The printed VIN and barcode should represent the same 17 characters.
Check your papers
Your registration and insurance documents normally show the VIN. Copy it carefully: VINs do not use I, O, or Q.
If a camera read is incomplete
A barcode or windshield scan can misread glare, dirt, or a damaged label. Keep the editable field and compare any uncertain characters with the plate. A partial VIN is not enough to make a shareable sheet.
