Factory VIN does not keep a VIN database, account list, or email list.

VIN handling

When you request a sheet, the request is transiently handled by our hosting infrastructure and sent to NHTSA vPIC for decoding. The VIN route is marked private and no-store. We do not intentionally log the VIN, decoded fields, camera frames, referrer, or response body.

Camera

Camera scanning is an optional browser feature. Frames remain in the browser and are not uploaded by Factory VIN. You can always type or paste a VIN instead.

Third-party exits

Next-check links take you to independent sites. Their privacy practices apply once you leave Factory VIN.

Changes

We will update this policy before introducing any feature that stores a VIN or email. Factory VIN does not offer those features today.
